Configuration of the Emotional Manager parameters for NinjaTrader 8

🎯 Template Name

This field allows the user to assign a unique name to each emotional template. This facilitates the management and customization of different trading strategies according to individual needs.

🕒 Trading Hours

  • Enabled: You must use NEW YORK time. Keep this function enabled if you want the platform to be available only during certain hours of the day and on specific days. Also, decide whether open positions should be closed or remain open after the time range ends.
  • Disabled: Keep this function disabled if you do not wish to restrict your trading to specific hours.

📰 News

  • Enabled: Keep this function enabled if you want the platform to block X minutes before a news event and unblock X minutes after it occurs. This function WILL close the position X minutes before the news, according to your settings.
  • Disabled: Trading is not restricted based on news events.

💔 Maximum Loss per Trade

  • Enabled: Keep this function enabled if you want your trade to close automatically after losing X amount of money PER OPEN TRADE, regardless of your accumulated profit/loss.
  • Disabled: Keep this function disabled if you do not want to limit the loss per trade.
    🔒 BLOCKS THE ACCOUNT FOR ONLY 1 MINUTE.

💰 Maximum Profit per Trade

  • Enabled: Keep this function enabled if you want your trade to close automatically after gaining X amount of money PER OPEN TRADE, regardless of your accumulated profit/loss.
  • Disabled: Keep this function disabled if you do not want to limit the profit per trade.
    🔒 BLOCKS THE ACCOUNT FOR ONLY 1 MINUTE.

📉 Maximum Daily Loss

  • Enabled: Keep this function enabled if you want the platform to block after losing X amount of money from the INITIAL balance of the day. Open LIVE trades will be considered, and once the limit is reached, they will close automatically.
    Example:
    • This parameter is set to $300 and your starting balance is $25,000.
    • Your daily max loss will trigger when your balance hits $24,700.
    • You open and close a trade with a profit of +$1,000, taking your balance to $26,000.
    • However, your daily max loss will still be $24,700 as it is based on the starting balance.
  • Disabled: Keep this function disabled if you don’t want to limit the daily loss for the account.

🔄 Dynamic Daily Loss

  • Enabled: Keep this function enabled if you want the platform to block after losing X amount of money based on the highest balance reached during the day. The limit adjusts dynamically.
    Example:
    • This parameter is set to $300 and your initial balance is $25,000.
    • Initially, your dynamic loss limit is $24,700.
    • You close a trade with +$1,000 profit, raising your balance to $26,000.
    • The dynamic max loss will update to $25,700 automatically.
  • Disabled: Keep this function disabled if you do not want to set a dynamic max daily loss.

💸 Maximum Daily Profit

  • Enabled: Keep this function enabled if you want the platform to block after earning X amount of money from the INITIAL balance of the day. LIVE profits will be considered, and trades will close automatically upon reaching the limit.
    Example:
    • This parameter is set to $500 and your initial balance is $25,000.
    • Your daily max profit triggers when your balance reaches $25,500.
  • Disabled: Keep this function disabled if you don’t want to limit daily profit for the account.

📅 Maximum Weekly Loss

  • Enabled: Keep this function enabled if you want the platform to block for the rest of the week after losing X amount during the week. The week starts Sunday at 6 PM New York time.
  • Disabled: Keep this function disabled if you don’t want to limit the weekly loss.

🏆 Maximum Weekly Profit

  • Enabled: Keep this function enabled if you want the platform to block for the rest of the week after earning X amount during the week.
  • Disabled: Keep this function disabled if you don’t want to limit the weekly profit.

🔢 Total Trades Limit

  • Enabled: Keep this function enabled if you want the platform to block after X closed trades.
  • Disabled: Keep this function disabled if you don’t want to limit the number of trades.

📊 Maximum Contracts per Trade

🔒 BLOCKS FOR 1 MINUTE AND CLOSES ALL TRADES.

  • Enabled: If you enter more contracts than allowed, the trade will execute but will be closed immediately and your account will be blocked for 1 minute.
  • Disabled: Keep this function disabled if you don’t want to set a contract limit per trade.

🚫 Losing Trades Limit

  • Enabled: Enable this if you want the platform to block after a certain number of losing trades.
  • Disabled: Keep this disabled if you DO NOT want to limit the number of losing trades.

🏅 Winning Trades Limit

  • Enabled: Enable this if you want the platform to block after a certain number of winning trades.
  • Disabled: Keep this disabled if you DO NOT want to limit the number of winning trades.
